arts in our community in the interest of enhancing cultural
life for the Monticello area.

GOALS and OBJECTIVES:
• In general, to create programs that fulfill the mission statement.
• Initiate artistic cultural exchange between artists and the
Monticello community.
• To be recognized as a significant cultural asset by the local
community.
• Support of the arts through funding and promotion.
• To create community awareness through an active involvement
and promotion of the arts.
• To create partnerships within the community through funding
and volunteerism in support of the arts.
• To develop an arts management sector offering opportunities
for the development and sharing of skills,
ideas and information across the arts community.

• Establishment of funding vehicle for arts organizations
and activities using funds derived from grants, private and
corporate donations and sponsorships, fund raising drives
and net event revenues.
• Coordination, promotion and support of various arts
activities including community theater productions and community
band performances, local art shows, music concerts, dance
performances and oral presentations.
• Establish a venue of arts performances for the year
2004-05 including 6-8 events that could be attended by the
general public.
• Creation of a Monticello Arts Season Pass for admission
to a variety of arts events and activities organized by the
Monticello Arts Council.
• Establish an annual fundraising dinner event sponsored
by the Monticello Arts Council.
• Development and support for local emerging artists
including production support and performance venues and opportunities.
• Educational workshops and demonstrations presented
by artists.
• To create public awareness of the arts opportunities
within our Monticello community through promotional and
marketing strategies.

• To create an annual destination arts event within the
Monticello community.
• Hiring an Events Director/Grants Administrator answering
to the Board for management of Council goals and objectives.
• Acquisition of land for construction of a Monticello
Playhouse and/or Monticello Center for the Arts building.

We are committed to serving the personal development and
growth of individual artists through mentoring, financial
support, and promotion of events to showcase their work.
|
We are committed to introducing youth to a variety of art
disciplines through participation and appreciation for diversity
in the arts.
|
To encourage employers to get involved in community arts
through seasonal ticket purchases for staff and employees,
providing an opportunity for volunteers within their organization
to get involved in the arts and corporate financial support
for on-going arts activities.

STRUCTURE:
The Monticello Arts Council is organized as a Non-profit Minnesota corporation with recognition from the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization. Contributions from individuals and business entities may be treated for tax purposes as a 100% deductible charitable contribution.

Consists of nine individuals primarily from the business
and financial community who have voting capabilities which
will govern and manage the organization.

This committee will make suggestions and review ideas on
an "as needed" basis bringing community arts concerns
and interests forward to the executive board and to network
within the community to attain arts council goals and objectives
as set forth.

Contributors to the Monticello Arts Council who through their
donations-in-kind or financial giving show support of the
community arts in our area.
